The hypocentre or focus of an earthquake is the point within the earth where the fault rupture actually occurs.

The epicentre of an earthquake is the central point on the Earth's surface directly above the focus or hypocentre.
the epicentre changes the direction and valid of the earthquake while the focus on the other changes the focus and movement or love of the earthquake he plates are what causes an earthquake and a volcanic eruption ok if helpful please comment bye thanks

The focus is the area beneath Earth's surface where rock that is under stress breaks, triggering an earthquake. The epicentre/epicenter is the point on the surface directly above the focus.

So basically the focus is underground while the epicenter is on the Earth's surface.
