In ELECTROLYTIC CELL,electric current is used to derive a non-spontaneous redox reaction.Down`s cell and nelson cell are electrolytic cell.

In GALVANIC CELL,electric current is produced as a result of spontaneous redox reaction.Daniel cell and fuel cell r galvanic or voltaic cell.

2.in ELECTROLYTIC CELL current is used

while in GALVANIC CELL current is produced

3

IN ELECTROLYTIC CELL.non=spontaneous redox reaction takes place here

IN GALVANIC CELL spontaneous redox reaction takes place here

4

example:electrolytic cell(down's cell and nelson's cell)

:galvanic cell(daniel cell,fuel cells

A galvanic cell is made up of two half cells connected together, and converts chemical energy into electrical energy. Chemical reactions within the galvanic cell are spontaneous and bring forth electrical energy. The anode is negative and the cathode is the positive electrode. An electrolytic cell's electrodes are contained together, and the cell converts electrical energy into chemical energy. Electrical energy must first be supplied to cause a non-spontaneous reaction. The anode is positive and the cathode is negative.

A Galvanic cell transforms the energy into electrical energy, whereas an electrolytic cell transforms the energy into chemical energy. The electron moves from anode to cathode in a galvanic cell, and in contrast, the electron enters through the cathode and comes out through the anode in an electrolytic cell.
