bad reason: i guess the fifties had music that was more mellow and soft while as this punked kid with rock and roll music and teenagers going wild over him and just being more wild in general made the adults go nuts!

... BUT not all adults felt that way they even loved his music 2

They believed that the rhythm, as opposed to their love of jazz and wholesome ballads, was "carnal".

They also believed that Elvis was uneducated, a hoodlum, on drugs, and even believed that he shot his mother.

When they saw Elvis giving of his own money, his time, etc. spending with handicapped and/or ill children AND performing Peace in the valley on the Ed Sullivan show (and Ed Sullivan announcing to the audience that "we have never had a pleasanter experience with a big name star than we had with you Elvis you are a decent fine young man". Elvis was visually touched by Ed Sullivan telling America the truth about him and for the rest of his life held Ed Sullivan in high regards.

Over time these same parents warmed to Elvis after learning of the role of god in his life and the bond/love with his mother. Then after Elvis was honorably discharged from the US Army (1968-1960) their respect for him matched the passion of his fans.

It was because of his (hip-grayting movements) what lead to parent's not liking him as well as it was classified to the parent's as sexual dancing.

They probably just did not like the idea of a male singer with those clothes and hair.

He also took drugs, which led to his death, another probable reason.

Parents didn't like Elvis because if his own persona. His sexual movements and gyrations made the hatred towards him terrible.
