Where is a tuba lyre attached?

It's usually connected to the handle, at the top where it connects to the mouth peice. It gets thinner there, and you can slide the lyre on there before you put on the mouthpeice.

A tuba lyre is attached to the back side of the tuba (opposite of from where you play) below the second or third valve on the piping. I has a small gear like wheel on it for tightening the lyre in place/

The best lyres are the ones with the clips on the back that can attach to the side of the bell. The ones around the slide or mouthpiece or something don't work at all.

There is a small hole where the lyre can be inserted near the bell end of the Trumpet. Some trumpets have the hole and some trumpets do not.
