The music helps because they could be relating to the problem in the song they listen to, and the artest of the song could be saying something helpfull in the song that will help the African person deal with there problem.
It could also help teach them a lesson on the problem they are dealing with.
I don't think there are any negative effects of African Songs.
Some of the positive effects might be:
Many languages spoken in Africa are tonal languages, leading to a close connection between music and language in some local cultures. These particular communities use vocal sounds and movements with their music as well. In singing, the tonal pattern or the text puts some constraints on the melodic patterns. On the other hand, in instrumental music a native speaker of a language can often perceive a text or texts in the music. This effect also forms the basis of drum languages (talking drums).[5]

(LOVE this question by the way!)There are a lot of ways music can affect a person's life. It can change their mood easily, it can become someone's life if they want it in their career, and it can save someone if they feel suicidal, because it can give them a reason to live. On the other hand, music can distract a person, whether the person's driving or working or anything, and can risk their life. A lot can happen because of music.
life would be very quiet without music! basically i love music its like my life! :)
The ethnic group that is credited for creating jazz music and maintaing its strong presence in American life is....African Americans.
African traditional songs are tied to hunting, fertility, and food production. Most aspects of daily life relate to music in some way.
All African Americans were slaves.
Music gave the African Americans a new way of life. New dance moves came about, Jazz music came out, and people were more open about how they danced and how they acted out in public.
Music is played in the homes of many people. Music is part of praise and worship for many as well. Music can be used as a teaching tool as well.

One way that music affects your life is that it is played in church so people can sing to God. Music also affects lives because it keeps people from being bored while driving their car.
