Trumpeter's Lullaby
Trumpeter's Prayer
Bugler's Holiday (a trumpet trio)
One of the most famous pieces of music ever written for the trumpet is Haydn's Trumpet Concerto. It is so famous because it was the first piece of music ever written for chromatic trumpet (the type of trumpets we have today).
well these aren't really trumpet songs but sound cool when a whole band plays them, thriller by mj, holiday by greenday, we will rock you by queen, paranoid by black sabbath, and my favorite crazy train by Ozzy osbourne
Since valves weren't invented until after "the greats", the trumpet missed out on a lot of solo opportunities. That's why there aren't any original trumpet solos by Mozart, Bach, or Beethoven--the instrument itself couldn't change notes well enough!
Some highly complex (but very fun!) songs include:
Haydn - Trumpet Concerto in E flat
Hummel - Trumpet Concerto in E flat major (it was written in E, but it is generally played in E flat)
Kennan - Sonata for Trumpet and Piano (this one's more modern and less common)
Since the Kennan is less well-known, I'd stick with the Haydn and the Hummel. That's how the professionals refer to them, too: "I'm playing the Haydn" or "I just finished the Hummel".
Some of the most famous trumpet players include Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis, Quincy Jones, Dizzy Gillespie, Harry James, Wynton Marshalls, Chet Baker, Henry Allen, Clifford Brown, Tommy Dorsey, Fats Navarro, and Cootie Williams.
Tchaikovsky wrote 'Chanson Napolitaine'. It's a great piece.
