That depends strictly on the contract that was signed when the recording was made, so there is a great deal of varience. Generally speaking about $1.25 per sale of an album and .03 per sale of a single. However the songwriter gets .03 every time a song that they wrote is played on the radio - the singer gets nothing. The amount of per album money is greatly determined by the singer/band. If they are at the very top of the list - (The Beatles in the 1960's) - they can pretty much name their price - within reason. in the 1980's Michael Jackson signed a contract to get $2.45 per album and "Thriller" sold 40,000,000 albums - that alone was $98,000,000!!!!!! It varies for every artist - the artist tries to get as much as possible the record company does the same! The only thing that gives the artist ANY leverage - is previous sales!!
Most artists do not get paid salary and weekly pay like most other people do in jobs. Artists usually get paid depending on how good their work is and how many people actaully buy what they have created. Some artists though can get paid a salary, it is usually done more in contract form though. If a business wants to create a new sign, or new sculpture for the outside of their business, then a artists will be hired and will be paid for creating the artwork. Like I said before though, it all depends on the talent of the artist, and the demand for what he/she is making.
They make ten cents to two dollars an album....they make more of ringtones which is probably the reason why hip hop is becoming a circus with more dances than a Britney Spears video
The album is worth a price close to $40 each. The value of the album will varying depending upon its condition.
I bought the vinyl for $20ish. I had $100. I bought a bat and a baseball and the Thriller album.
The cover for Amorica was too risque for many stores to carry the album and the record did not make as much money as it could have.
From the sale of there CD's.... (not from illegal downloads.. lol ) Who ever said that is an idiot. Recording artists on major record labels usually make 10% and sometimes 15% of the retail sale price of their album. Sometimes a certain percent of that will be given to the producer of the record. The record label then takes 85 to 90% of each product sold, the label will then recoup the cost of the recording and production cost which they front to the artist. Artists on independent record labels can receive as much as 50% of the product sold at retail price. It isn't uncommon for artists to go into debt to their record label. CDs basically give the artist exposure and is not a revenue source. Artists make most of their money from touring and merchandise which the record label typically isn't involved.
If you release an album you earn about $48million + depends how well the album goes $US 47million sometimes billion!

well it depends on how many tours and how many albums they sell. if they sell an album for $10.00 half the money will go to the producers the writer and the people who provide the cds so that leaves the rappers with about 2.75 cents per album so the rappers will make about 900$ per month if it is a good and enjoyable album and the rappers get payed about 27.00 when there song is on the radio.
A make up artist makes about 26,000 dollars a year in Arizona. Being a private make up artist or a celebrity artist may bring in higher pay.
By each album he sells he receives about $40000. But it depends to the number of songs there are in that album ; for example each song costs about $2000
It depands on how much of the video is sold
