The was the greatest of his time....and an amazing person

some one said it to him

people called Elvis the pelvis in a bad way because he kept moving them, but it was so hard to ignore they called him The king of Rock.

Elvis was called the king because he sold more records then any other artist at that time. today he is called the king because he still sell millions of records around the world. he is known the world over by his first name. no one els has that honor. if Elvis never enterd the music industry it would be completely different then it is today..

"Elvis" from his fathers middle name (i.e. Vernon Elvis Presley).

"Aron" as it rhymed with "Garon" which was his twin brother, who was born first, middle name (i.e. Jessie Garon Presley) and sadly was born stillborn (i.e. dead).

If you mean "The King of Rock and Roll" (a title Elvis scoffed at, incidentally), it was cooked up by "Colonel" Tom Parker, his agent and publicist.
