Walter Jones, Thuy Trang and Austin St John the original Black, Yellow and Red Rangers, were written out of the show after the 20th episode of the 2nd season and officially replaced after the 28th episode following a hold out for contract renegoiations with the Show. Amy Jo Johnson asked for the character of Kimberly to be written off so she could pursue other projects in her acting career.
