Who is the husband on ghost whisper?

In ghost whisperer, Melinda's brother is Gabriel Lawrence, played by Ignacio Serricchio, he is only her half brother though, on Melinda's father's side (later discovered to be only her Step Brother). Gabriel can also see ghosts.

He died, but then his spirit went into a man called Sam's body, but then he loses his memory and doesn't remember Melinda. So one day, Sam had to save Melinda from a dangerous situation and he got his memory back (as Jim). So the n he went to medical school to become a doctor. He used to be a paramedic.

He does die but he then goes into another man's body. We and Melinda can see it's Jim but he looks different to other people.
