Russia is a democratic country of sorts. It is no longer a communist country, meaning it is no longer a country controlled by the Communist Party. Russia, never was a communist country as Karl Marx described communism. In fact, there has never been a true Marxian communist country.

Because Marx said that the government would fade away and that just doesn't happen. He had zero understanding of human nature. He never visited factories etc. He was living in a dream world that sounded good and fair but were a disaster.

There can be no such thing as a Communist country. Communism means a classless stateless society based on production for us, and will have to exist at a global level. Russia used to be state capitalist, and is now private capitalist.
