2) by boat, whether across the Bering Strait (it's only 51 miles), or across the Aleutian archipelago (there are 71 islands to help), or elsewhere. Even crossing the Atlantic is not impossible (as demonstrated by Columbus and others); nor is it impossible to cross the Pacific (look up Thor Heyerdahl).
