American dentist, born June 1, 1855, Herrick, Bradfour County, Pennsylvania; died August 11, 1930, Pasadena.
Biography:
Edward Hartley Angle studied at the Pennsylvania College of Dental Surgery, becoming doctor of medicine in 1897. 1887 to 1892 he worked as professor of orthodontics at the University of Minnesota, 1892 to 1898 at the Northwestern University, 1886-1899 at the Marion Sims College of Medicine, and 1897 to 1899 at the Medical Department of the Washington University.
In 1917 he founded the Angle School of Orthodontics, which he himself had established as a speciality. With Angle the specialty of orthodontics received a new impetus. He organized and classified various abnormalities of the teeth and jaws, invented apparatuses for their treatment and devised several orthodontic operations. Through a series of books and pamphlets he standardized appliances, inventing the systems now widely used, with modifications.
it depends if u need them or not, but if u do thenn u have to wait 4 all of your front teeth and most of the teeth around them to fall out. If u have 1 or 2 left in the back then they can stop the wiring at that tooth at wait 4 it to fall out.
Dental braces were invented in the year 400BC. This was a very long time ago. Dental braces are used to straighten out the teeth.
the first braces were invented by Pierre Fauchard in 1728. and it was constructed by a piece of flat metal that was attached to the teeth by thread.
Braces were invented because people with crooked teeth can fix that with braces.
Michael Hammond invented the braces
1987
in 1929
An orthodontist can put braces on your teeth
No, I have procelin crowns and I am getting braces. They just had to fix my teeth first before they put on the braces. Good luck:)
No.
You can get braces for any type of teeth that you may have. A dentist will be able to let you know if you are able to get braces.
no
Braces!
Yes, you can have braces on the inside part of your teeth, they're called lingual braces.
No, orthodontists do not break teeth to apply braces to your teeth. However, if the orthodontist has determined that your mouth is overcrowded, it may be necessary to have some teeth extracted if they will interfere with the plan of correction. Once the braces are put on and the teeth begin to shift, they will gradually fill in the spaces where the other teeth were.
Braces DO NOT hurt being put on at all ... what they do is put a gel on your teeth and harden it with your brace on then after all the braces are harden they put the bracket in but THEY DO hurt a little the first couple of days or so but taking medication will ease the pain :)
Yes
No. If you only have a problem with your top teeth, only your top will get braces. Sometimes the ortodontist doesn't put braces on the back teeth until later. Sometimes, although this doesn't happen much, the braces will only be placed on the front four teeth.
