There are many types of drug rehab programs available, sometimes hospitalization is suggested for more severe cases of addiction, but in most situations rehab can be accomplished by either/or counseling, support groups & care centers. The technique by which these programs attempt to rehabilitate the individual vary from place to place.

The same drugs that are prescribed any where else. Prisons, however, usually use generics whenever possible. If two drubs exist, one is slightly better and the other is cheaper the prison will usually go with the cheapest one.

How to Admit Someone to Drug Rehab?

Drug rehabilitation, or drug rehab, is a general term for the various treatment strategies designed to treat drug or alcohol abuse. Generally, a drug rehab program uses a combination of treatment methods, such as medication and psychotherapy, which are administered in a specialized setting, such as a hospital, clinic, or health care facility. Drug rehab programs are usually divided into three kinds: in-patient treatment at a drug rehab facility, such as a critical care unit, hospital, or residential drug rehab center; out-patient programs that are administered from health care facilities or residential drug rehab centers; and group therapy programs that are typically held at public locations, such as a counselor’s office. Medications that are used for drug rehab programs will depend upon a number of factors, such as the type of drug dependency that an addict is recovering from, the severity of the drug addiction, and the severity of the withdrawal symptoms that the recovering addict is likely to experience. Drug rehab programs use a number of psycho-therapy models to treat drug or alcohol addiction. Among the therapies that might be employed are cognitive-behavioral therapy, multi-dimensional family therapy, motivational incentives, and motivational interviewing. Generally, more severe drug or alcohol addictions require more extensive treatment programs. In-patient treatment programs that are administered from either a residential setting or a clinical setting will require that the recovering addict commit to a program of longer duration, such as six to twelve months, in order to comprehensively treat the addiction. In-patient drug treatment programs require that the patient remain at the health care facility twenty-four hours a day for the duration of their treatment. Individuals with less severe drug addictions, or individuals that are ready to resume the responsibilities of daily life, may be treated at an out-patient program. Out-patient drug rehab programs allow the patient to leave the health care facility during the day for the purposes of work or school. These programs require that individuals return to the health care facility at prearranged times. Group therapy programs do not require any hospitalization or commitment to living at a drug rehab center. These programs usually meet weekly at a public location.
