∙ 14y agoBlood cells (erythrocytes) can be oxygenated, or deoxygenated. They're both carried within your arteries and veins, with oxygenated blood going away from the heart in arteries, and deoxygenated blood going through veins. Both, oxygenated and deoxygenated can be found in arteries and veins, its just that veins will have a higher concentration of deoxygenated blood, whereas arteries will have a higher level of oxygenated blood.
Everything i said above applies to SYSTEMIC arteries. Pulmonary is different, basically arteries and veins are switched.
