Lamictin (generic name lamotrigine) is an anticonvulsant used for various types of seizures, as well as a mood stabiliser for bipolar mood disorder. When used for bipolar disorder, it shows more efficacy in treating depressive episodes than manic episodes. The drug has relatively few side-effects in most people. It carries a warning for the development of a rash, which could become life-threatening, in which case the drug is discontinued.

Lamictal is a mood stabilizer. Its a scary drug though. I've seen clients who miss 3 days in a row and have seizures and are cranky. Often used for bipolar , depression, borderline.
