The lump is likely a knot caused by the stiff and sore muscles. If your mattress is saggy or uneven, you should try using a different mattress. Try using a firmly pumped air mattress and see if it helps.

A normal healthy person, should not have a lump on the side of his neck. Can you be more specific about yoursymptoms and what it looks like? When did you discover it, what were you doing at the time of discovery? How long has it been there? Is it move-able or fixed? Is there discoloration? Is there pain? Has it changed in appearance or size over time? Do you have any underlying medical conditions? What types of medications do you take?

A hard large swollen lump on the lower side of the neck is more than likely a swollen lymph node. This happens when someone is sick, and the body is trying to fight off the infection.Ê
