Well, It depends on the person really. Drugs are exposed to a wide variety of people, all kinds of drugs. LSD, Magic mushrooms, marijuana, tobacco, heroin, cocaine, roxy, zanex, they're all easily acquired and they're very cheap. Lots of young kids are exposed to these drugs and get hooked pretty fast. It was depressing when I witnessed all of my friends just leave me and got hooked to all sorts of these drugs, they get in the mindset that it's not bad for you and just like that, drugs overtake them.

∙ 13y agoYoung people may take drugs for several reasons. They may want to look cool, or they gave in to peer pressure, or maybe they just want to try it. Each drug has its own addictive factors. Cigarettes contain nicotine, a powerful drug that makes people addicted. Sometimes, people are addicted so they are always "cool". Sometimes, certain type of drugs are coated with something to make it taste good, or they might put a famous logo on it (for example, the Yankees sign).

Drugs affect a family because it breaks up the family and then the young family members around could start doing drugs and selling it at a young age. Also u or other family can go to jail with having the position of illegal drugs. It can break up the family as well because they don't feel the need to do so. Its not worth losing your family and when your in jail you have nobody
How do you stop drugs in my community?
If you wish to stop drugs in your community it starts with you. Become a part of the movement to stop illegal drug use. Hold events that tell people about the damages of drug use. Make kids aware of the dangers of drug use while they are young be proactive and be a part of your community. Have fundraisers to help the people in rehab quit the drugs. When they get clean they might feel the urge to help others get clean and to help prevent others from starting illegal drugs. It is very possible that we can clean up the world of illegal drugs. Just be proactive and help your community get there.
Why are young people using drugs when they know it's dangerous?
Maybe because they hear of people like Willy Nelson who has used cannabis for decades without any problems. Why is alcohol and tobacco legal when they both maim and kill far more people than the illegal drugs ?

I feel that most young people turn to drugs to hide their feelings or to try and escape something. I also feel that young people might think it is the cool thing to do... for me, it was both.
