You could just be shedding older blood. If you are actually bleeding then you might have been pregnant, if it just a brown discharge, it's most likely old blood that hadn't shed before. It can also be some cells from the lining of the uterus. or if you've had sex your cervix may have been lacerated (or other parts of your vagina for that matter). If it only happens one month, i wouldn't be concerned. But if it continues definitely see your gyn asap. You could just be shedding older blood. If you have a brown discharge at the end of your period, this typically is just dried/left over blood. It should stop within a few short days after your period. Which is why it's good to wear something like pantiliners, even when you're done with your period.

When you have brown discharge near the end of your period that just means that your period is almost done it does not mean that there's something wrong with you it's normal.
