I'm not an expert or anything but sodium is filtered through the blood and excreted by the kidneys. So chronic renal failure will cause it to increase. This goes for potassium and other electrolytes.

What is the effect of antidiuretic hormone on potassium concentration and excretion?

Antidiuretic hormone (ADH) decreases the amount of sodium in your body and when ever sodium levels go down potassium levels go up (same is true for visa versa) so the amount of Potassium should increase when there is an increase in ADH.

What adrenal cortical hormone causes potassium excretion?

The hormone that regulates sodium blood levels via the kidneys is aldosterone.

When sodium levels increase an animal is stimulated to?

drink

Which hormone limits sodium excretion in the urine to help maintain your electrolyte balances during excessive sweating?

Aldosterone is the hormone that limits sodium excretion in the urine. It is released by the adrenal glands in response to low blood pressure or low blood sodium levels. Aldosterone acts on the kidneys to increase the reabsorption of sodium and water, helping to maintain electrolyte balance during excessive sweating.

Aldosterone is a hormone that causes the renal tubules to reclaim sodium ions from the filtrate?

true

what hormone promotes sodium ion by the kidney in order to increase blood pressure and blood volume?

Aldesterone

What hormone causes the kidneys to reabsorb sodium and water?

Vasopressin and ANP reduce water loss in urine. I don't remember which hormone reduces sodium loss in urine.

A sodium channel blocker would increasedecreaseserum sodium levels outside of normal resting nerve cells?

a sodium channel blocker would (increase;decrease) serum sodium levels outside of normal resting nerve cells

How to increase aldosterone?

Aldosterone helps to indirectly regulate blood levels. A low sodium diet is a way to increase aldosterone in the body.

Why does blood pressure increase with workload?

Blood pressure increase as weight increase because of raised sodium levels and thickening of the arteries.

Why does taking a steroid hormone make you retain water?

A steroid hormone has a side effect of having mineralcorticoid activity. Specifically, it exerts similar effects to that of aldosterone. What aldosterone does is increase the amount of sodium that's reabsorbed by your kidney. With sodium, water comes along as well, hence the water retention from a steroid hormone.

What hormone regulates sodium re absorption in the distal convoluted tubule?

Sodium and potassium levels are controlled by secreting K+ and absorbing Na+. Sodium absorption by the distal tubule is mediated by the hormone aldosterone. Aldosterone increases sodium reabsorption.
