Hash is a concentrate that can be made from multiple parts of the marijuana plant.

It's stronger because it is concentrated.

Example: let's say one gram of marijuana = 2 THC and One gram of hash contains 6 grams of marijuana. That's 12 THC in one gram of hash.

Those are not actual measurements, but hopefully you get the point.

Well there’s was the guy who sued the federal government for a legal way to ease his glaucoma that was in the 70s. Now the courts ruled although he could use marijuana he had to obtain it from the feds. Now federal government marijuana is grown by one university in I believe Mississippi it is standardized to be about 3.5% potency. Now that is very low grade medical marijuana luckily when prop 215 passed in CA in 1996 such limitations went away.

Since that time medical marijuana has been available with the same potency variations as street stuff. For a while medical dispensary weed was more expensive due to the overhead that drug dealers don’t have. Then medical marijuana started to really take off when more states started allowing dispensary’s this began to drive prices down because of the surplus that had built up. The final hit came to most states as they went legal for recreational use that’s when prices for cannabis fell. The tier system of prices still exist I still see $50 1/8’s and ridiculous $200 ounces but that’s marked to people who are out of town or been living under a rock generally though perfectly potent bud can be had for $80–100 an ounce these days in CA. Top of the line is more like $140 or so.

Keep in mind decently potent cannabis is essential for good medical use however you can read your dose based on what you feel since inhalation is so quick to take effect you can always take more later. Having said that while decently potency is important top tier bud with 25–30%+ cannabanoids (cannabis active compounds) isn’t necessary for medical use. I would recommend at least 13% generally speaking I believe you want to be in the “teen” range. Once your at 25% THC that means 1/4 is pure THC of your bud. CBD can be had in as potent concentrations though it will cost more if it’s specifically higher in CBD though some dispensaries will have it for reasonable prices. I assume the potency will only go up as prices go down.
