How much do braces hurt?

Ok first of all putting on braces does not hurt at all i just got mines on on Tuesday April 20th 2010 and once again it did not hurt and second of all after like 3 hours or so your eth are going to be shifting because of the pressure the braces are putting and it hurts real bad on a scale from 1-to its like a 7 and yes it hurts afterwards each time you get them tightned. like you wont be able to bite down on anything hard : i recommend mashed potatoes. ice cream. oatmeal and soft foods for the first week or so.

If it is a retainer only two or three days you get used to them after that but I don't know how long train track braces hurt for about a week and a half I'd say they would be sore if they were train tracks

They hurt for the first few days, and you wont want to eat anything solid or crunchy. I recommend oatmeal for the first day you get yours on. After a few days to a week they wont hurt anymore. Also they will hurt when you get them tightened.

It depends on the person. I got braces and it started to hurt about 3 hours after getting them put on. The second day was way worse, with pain so bad, I needed ibuprofen. I needed Ibuprofen for about 5 days before I could live with the soreness of the braces. As I said, it depends on the person and what they are getting fixed. I had an overbite and my teeth weren't lined up correctly, so there was a lot of moving in my mouth. Usually it takes around a week for you to fully adjust to the braces... It could also take more time. I hope this helped!

Well for me it took about a week, but it varies between people.

It could take you a few days to 2 weeks.

TRUST ME on this:

DO NOT TRY TO CHEW ONCE YOU GET BRACES!

It hurts really really bad.

Even TOUCHING your braces hurt.

Stick to soup, ice cream, Jell-O, yogurt, and Pastina.

i think u mean how long does it take before your braces hurt

any way i got mine about 6 hours ago

mine felt weird for about 1 hour and then they started hurting

and the rest of the day they were sour

but every one is different

mine hurt so soon because i have REALLY bad crowding and my teeth were just moving

in a few weeks it will all be gone

It depends and it is unknown for everyone because everybody's teeth are different. Some are sensitive and some aren't. It usually hurts a couple hours later after you get your braces. It also usually can hurt up to as long as two weeks. I said CAN, though. For others, it hurts for a couple hours, a day, or two, or maybe even three etc..

Whenever you are back from the dentist they do hurt for around Three Days. Its these days only when maximum movement occurs, rest days are for accommodating the new position of your teeth. Eat or drink only cold stuff during the first two days.. Pain will have ended by the the third day positively :-)
