The vagina should smell musky but clean - it will change with hormonal changes and when you are aroused, you may also have temporary strong or bad odour due to temporary imbalances in vaginal flora such as after sex or when you need to have a shower.

When you do shower or bathe use water only - DO NOT use soaps, washes, wipes, sprays, douches, or even so-called feminine washes - your vagina is self-cleaning so all you need to stay clean is to wipe your vulva using water, anything chemical can interfere with vaginal pH and soaps kill healthy vaginal flora. Soaps and other cleansing products can also cause irritation and dryness.

If you have a bad vaginal odour which continues for more than a couple of days then you likely have a vaginal infection which would require a visit to your doctor for tests and treatment.

If you have a really strong odor which other people comment on, (not just bullying) go to the doctor as you may have a low-grade infection. Whatever you do DO NOT use any douches, washes or deodorants as they just make any problems worse. It is perfectly normal to have a vaginal odor. The odor is usually pretty inoffensive and is a natural part of being a woman. During puberty the vaginal area secretes more sweat and tends to be moister and therefore more aromatic (smelly). You may also notice that the odor changes as your period cycle changes, becoming more noticeable right around menstruation. There is an interesting fact behind why all women have a specific odor. Sex organs smell because it is part of their function. There are pheromones, which are "sex attractors" in the vaginal fluids that are secreted. These fluids are actually there to arouse sexual interest. Humans are no different from other species in the animal kingdom in this respect, however we do not use this odor to attract other species per say. It is not suggested to continue douching, or using feminine sprays. These products may produce irritation and discharge by altering the body's natural secretions and pH. Scented tampons or pads are not recommended either. There are some new pads that have just appeared on the market -Love Moon Anion Sanitary Napkins from WinalitePro- which contain an anion strip. What this does is that it doesn't just cover or hide the odor, it ELIMINATES it.

Keeping yourself clean by washing with a mild soap and warm water daily should be a good routine. To help with excess sweating in that area it may help to avoid wearing tight clothing and always wear cotton underwear to allow the body to breath. Your odor is probably ordinary and nothing to be alarmed about. However if you do notice a terribly strong odor or abnormal discharge, you may want to consult a physician. For a more thorough description of what to look for check out Discharge - Yeast Infection.
My advise would be ask a doctor....

This could be the cause of infection, also lack of proper hygiene, this is also cause to see a gynecologist if it continues.

It is often caused by overpopulation of microorganisms that inhabit vagina. If you don't feel any pain, and if there is no bleeding, just look for a proper product easily found in drugstores, and wash your vagina with it, inside.
The correct spelling is vagina. A malodorous smell here can be caused by disturbance of the normal bacterial balance, causing 'bacterial vaginosis'. It is usually treated with an antibiotic such as metronidazole, either prescribed as a vaginal gel, or as tablets to swallow. You should visit your doctor for a prescription.
Go to your doctor and ask them for a medication that is either cream or pill. The cream can be called vagisil or another name- you inject the cream into vagina twice a day 12hrs apart for 5 to 7 days. As for the pill is called Metrondizil or something- you take it daily twice a day for seven days. The pill or cream will rid your odour situation. The reason for is because of bacterial that has been in contact with your vaginal opening. Can be caused by not cleaning yourself right (make sure to wipe from vagina to anus not anus to vagina) don't want poop in your vagina, also can get it from wet bathing suits left on or sweaty workout clothes, also from your partner if he don't clean himself good and has unprotected sex with others. It varies so make sure to always use condoms so problem never happens and clean yourself right.
Bad vaginal odor is usually caused by bacterial imbalance called bacterial vaginosis. See your health care provider for testing and treatment. Douching, vaginal sprays, and perfumed products all increase the risk of bacterial vaginosis.

If you wear pads or tampons, you might need to change what brand you use or just buy several different brands at the same time and just switch brands when you notice the odor. You could also buy feminine wipes and every time you finish going to the restroom just wipe real good. Another option you have is just to put deodorant between your legs and then put a lite smelling sent on your underwear.

The vagina should smell musky but clean and will change with hormonal changes as well as with arousal, or it can smell stronger when you need to bathe. If your vagina smells bad then it is a sign of vaginal infection so you should see your doctor for tests and treatment.

Menstrual odour is most commonly due to the types of products that you use to manage menstrual flow - tampons are internal so prevent blood hitting the air to cause odour during use but they are bad for vaginal hygiene so can cause odour when you switch to pads, and commercial pads cause sweating as well as contain chemicals that cause bad odour in contact with bodily fluids.

It's best to use hygienic menstrual products such as menstrual cups, softcups, or cloth menstrual pads over tampons or commercial pads and change often - pads have to be changed at least every 4-6 hours, but menstrual cups and softcups can be worn safely for up to 12 hours.

Make sure to shower regularly and to 'freshen up' during the day use a little bottle or water or toilet paper moistened with water when you use the bathroom - DO NOT use vaginal wipes, baby wipes, or hand wipes on your vulva as this will cause bad odour as it will change vaginal pH and flora.

Menstrual cycle refers to the reproductive cycle, fertile females will always be on their menstrual cycle, I believe that you mean after menstruation. If there is a bad odour that may be a sign of a vaginal infection so you would need to see your doctor, otherwise good hygiene is enough - shower daily and avoid tight fitting or synthetic clothing.

Also check what products you use during menstruation: tampons and commercial menstrual pads are unhygienic so will cause bad odour, if you are using these options at least be sure to change them every 4-6 hours and remember to alternate with pads if you use tampons.
