If you're having difficulty gaining weight, as I do, maybe get a job in a bar or restaurant, preferably as a waiter or waitress who frequently enters the kitchen. Maybe you'd be allowed to snack on some fresh, hot, delicious food as often as you like. Ideally maybe become a chef and then I think sampling food all day is a job requirement getting paid to eat. I don't think I've ever seen a skinny chef.

This may seem shocking, and I haven't actually done it yet, but I think eating fruits and other sources of potassium, including potassium supplements could cause you to gain weight. I discovered this quite by chance when reading about potassium. Potassium is described as being beneficial for those seeking to lose weight because it will prevent cravings for sugary snacks between meals. It does this by storing glucose as glycogen, I think, which is then converted back into slowly released energy, thereby eliminating the craving for candies, chocolate bars, etc. I was starting to consume some potassium supplements, along with food and beverage sources of potassium, and I was shocked but delighted that I was maintaining my weight while consuming about only half the usual amount of calories. I've been hopelessly skinny for years, trying to gain weight. Most of my adult life I've been skinny, possibly because I've been deficient of potassium as a result of being afraid of poisonous sprays on fruits and vegetables, and because of the inconvenience of fruits and vegetables. My theory of potassium causing weight gain might explain why there's so many fat people who don't want to be fat but find it impossible to lose weight!

I'm taking it as you don't want to gain negative weight. When I say this I mean weight that will clog your arteries. One main idea to think about is that muscle weighs more than fat. If you want to gain more weight, the best way is to create more muscle in your body. To help with the creation of muscle, a high protein intake is mandatory. There are also many different supplements that can help you on this front. For instance, whey. Whey is just a high quality protein. But you really just want to increase your calorie intake, but with HEALTH foods.

To gain weight you need to have a higher calorie intake per day, you should also try to get to the gym at least once week. If you're not getting results you should talk to your doctor, you might have a fast metabolism.

I remember having the same trouble myself. I was always so thin. Some would say that was a blessing. In other words, it was better to be thin than overweight. I guess that was true for a variety of reasons to include not having to worry about what I ate. Anyway, what worked for me was consistency. I learned to eat three regular meals per day; breakfast, lunch, and dinner, whether I was hungry or not. Second, I started drinking two protein drinks per day. I picked up the powdered protein drink from a nutrition store. If you stop at a nutrition store, they will be able to recommend a good protein drink. However, stay away from drinks that are used to promote mass. All you want is a good whey protein drink, and mix it with whole milk. The mass drinks - I found - can create some stomach problems, and they are very hard to mix. One great drink - in my opinion - is Nitro-tech put out by muscle-tech. It's very easy to mix and tastes like a milk shake. In addition, you can pick up a jar of powder Glutamine. Stay away from pills, they will do nothing but make you financially broke. Next, it is important to develop an exercise routine that is consistent. You must not give up just because you may not see a big difference in a week or two. The drinks, eating habits, and exercise routines must work over time. Don't expect great gains instantly. However, over time you will see a big difference. Again, you must remain committed. Lastly, remember that too much weight is too much weight. If you start to put on too much excess weight, it will present a whole new set of problems, and you will wind up wishing you were thin again. Take everything in moderation and remain faithful. I worked hard at it, became a Sergeant in the Marine Corps and still keep fit to this day. It's all up to you. You can do it. Just stay focused and don't give up!
