Girls love being hugged as long as the guy is friendly not creepy! I would know, I'm a girl. NEVER, ever hug a girl you like (unless you know her, and you have a relationship), because if you do, she might turn on you or something. Girls are very protective of themselves, and if they don't know you, your "chick" might turn into a tiger!

Hugging is alright. I hug girls any day just to improve communication. So long as you don't creep them out. Come in gently and then pull her closer, even rub her back a little bit. That's how my boyfriend does it.

if you need a friendly hug or a hello hug you need to be friends and be liked by that girl. most girls won't give a hug unless you need one, if you truly need a hug ask for one from your girl-friends.

∙ 13y agoIt definitely depends on how close the girl is to the guy. If they're just casual acquaintances, usually the best way is for the girl to go under the guy's arms and to rest their arms loosely around the guy's back.
If they're much closer friends, I believe the best way to hug a guy is to gently wrap your arms around their neck and the guy's arms goes under your arms and around the lower part of your back, wrapping you up. This style of hugging is much more personal and should only be used if you're good friends.
Also, as a side note, if you're not very close, keep your butt out as you hug the guy. Don't make it obvious, but you still want some separation. If you're very close, close the gap.
