From a first aid standpoint, unless it's bleeding from a compound fracture where the bone protrudes from the skin, it doesn't matter a lot if the foot is broken or not, as the treatment is the same. Basically, immobilize the injury in place, reduce patient's pain, watch for cirulation problems and consider transport.
From a homecare standpoint, it's a very good idea to get imagery, even though we'd all like to avoid the cost. While sprains and such can be just as (or even more) painful than fractures, broken bones, unless treated, may not heal in a way that allows for all your former moblity and sensation.
Answer2:The normal symptoms to tell if your foot is broken would be numbness, pins and needles, cant move your foot, swollen and extreme bruising. If any of the following symptoms you have i suggest going to a doctorI've broken and sprained my ankle more times than anyone in my school would believe including my twin sister. I now have ankle problems, but that's not the point. Okay, well you most likely did break your ankle, even though I can't say for sure. You should probably get an x-ray. When I broke my ankle for the first time, I cried when I tried to jump off the swing. I landed with my ankle twisted all the way backwards. I couldn't feel my ankle but I could feel the pain. I couldn't even take one step on it without the bone moving. It hurt so bad. It was swollen and purple, navy blue, and black. It turns out that I broke it in two places. My actual ankle bone and my shin. Now I can't run or walk for more than one minute without my ankle hurting pretty bad. Anyway I would get x-rays and do as your doctor says.
When I broke my ankle, at first there was a brief numbing sensation followed by pain and swelling. Sometimes now, i get little stress fractures. I can usually tell by the little numbing sensation followed by the pain. Doctors will only diagnos it on x-rays or scans. Get an X-ray
Usually the level of pain will give you a good indication. Also there will be a significant amount of swelling. However, the only sure way to tell is obviously an x-ray! If in doubt, get it checked!
if you can't walk on your leg and it's swollen, you probably broke or fractured it.
I'm not sure so first i would go to a doctor.
Well, I'm not exactly sure how, but here's a simple test I've used before. If they can't move they're leg without screaming in pain, it's probably broken. If they can move it, even if there is some pain, it probably isn't broken. Basically, if the pain is unbearable when moved, it's broken. Easy. When the person breaks a leg they will have constant pains. There will be a bump and it will be swollen. These are signs that may happen. Also they may need some ice.
if u r ankle is before an hour where the crack had come there swelling will appear as the swealling appears first thing u need to take cloth and get it wet and just roll over it but do not tie it to the ankle it is dangerous if u tie it because the bone which has got a crack it might break
you cant walk on it and its swollen
It becomes discolored and rapidly shows evidence of bruising, (within hours) x-ray devices and a diagnostician with x-ray experience may also be helpful.
I know that if you can move your toes then it is sprained if not then it's probably broken.
how much money selletment from broken ankle
A broken bone heals alot faster than a ankle sprain.
how much compensation would you get for a broken ankle a work injury.
If you can't move it, and it's very swollen, it's probably broken. If you can move it, but it hurts every time someone touches it, or something rubs against it, its sprained.sprained is rare.... like... I didnt even know that it was possible. But Fractured, hurts like hell, and it makes ur finger turn colors
"I have broken my ankle" in English is Ho rotto la caviglia in Italian.
The medical term for a broken ankle is "ankle fracture". This occurs when one or more of the bones that make up the ankle joint are broken. Treatment usually involves immobilization, rest, and sometimes surgery.
Once the ankle has healed. If the injury is not crippling and the doctor passes it, there would not be a problem. You wouldn't be able to go to boot camp with a broken ankle.
because its broken
Yes, only the toe is broken not the ankle.
Usually if you go to get x-rays your doctor will tell you whether or not its broken. Some things you should know if it is broken are (i know this because I am in a aircast right know because I have a broken growth plate in my ankle). So first it would be helpful if I knew where you think your growth plate is broken. So here are some things you should know; -if it is broken and it is your ankle or heel, you will most likely be put into a aircast -go to the doctor asap because I waited two weeks and it got worse -you should go to a orthopedic doctor before or after so he can tell you whats wrong etc. -and stay off it as much as possible (I thought I sprained my ankle so I was on crutches for a week, and they helped)
