Speaking from personal experience, I think there should be pain. Alot of the people who cut themselves do it because it is a different type of pain. It either helps them cope, like a release, or do it because it feels worse then what they deal with. If you don't want to feel the pain, then I don't think cutting the right thing to do.
Your right cutting does hurt but the worst you will feel is just a sting..... there is no way to avoid it unless you numb it. Afterwards you may experience extreme discomfort.

∙ 14y agoYou cannot cut yourself without it hurting. Do not continue to cut yourself, as it will just cause more damage to yourself. If you continue to cut yourself, seek the advise of your parents or a close friend.

∙ 13y agoIts not good to make yourself bleed, if you are depressed see a counselor or talk to your parents or friends. Cutting or hurting yourself in anyway is the worst way to make yourself feel better.

I cut myself and have for a while. The reason it is bad is because in the Bible, Leviticus 19:28, its says "You shall not make any cuts on your body for the dead or tattoo yourselves: I am the Lord" I cut myself because it helps to focus on the physical pain and takes away from the emotional pain.
