Id like to know the answer to this too I am 17 and after months of pain in my lower abdomon and months of not getting my period my gynocologist say my uterus is very thin probably because of the pill. But what does this mean for me ? Yes, Depo-Provera, like all methods of hormonal Birth Control, thins the lining of the uterus. Eventually the lining becomes so thin that women on Depo Provera get no bleeding. This is a similar, but more extreme, form of the lighter periods women get on combination hormonal birth control like the pill, patch, and ring. It's the same as the mechanism that leads to decreased and absent bleeding with the use of Mirena and the contraceptive implant.
