yes, i know this b/c I'm 22 and my mom is an alcoholic, has been since as far back as i can remember. my childhood was not good.----
Alcohol lowers inhibitions, so people who are drunk are more likely to do and say anything they have the impulse to do or say. But alcohol also alters people's mental states, making them perceive things and think about things in different (and often aberrant) ways. so yes and no: they may say what's on their minds, but their minds are pretty badly warped when they say it, so you can't really say it's 'true'.

∙ 18y agoToo much alcohol can give some people diarrhea of the mouth and they can often say things they wouldn't normally say (and if they remember) are totally embarrassed the next day and wished they would just disappear. At times alcohol can loosen the tongue and the person may say things to another good/bad and they are feelings they have been harboring for awhile. Marcy
