On the other hand the documentation for one amphetamine drug test (Cortez OneStep Amphetamine Urine RapiDip) specifically says that methylphenidate (Ritalin) will not give a positive at concentrations of 100 micograms per milliliter (which is more than a hundred times normal amounts). It will show positive for drugs closely related to amphetamine though (methamphetamine, MDA, MDMA).

I don't know why people just say yes or no to questions they have no idea on. Ritalin is a stimulant.. yes thats true but its not an amphetamine i know for a fact it doesnt show up because i took 3 different drug tests i took the one at cvs because i read these stupid posts from people who are very dumb that said yes so i bought a hom self test and passed so then later that day took one for my job which gets sent off to a lab and i passed and three days later after using ritalin that day i took a drug test for my primary care and that was another kind of self test right there and showed up negative and so in 3 different test cups i passed and took ritalin that morning so people dont know crap. I have a script for it but i would rather my job not know i take anything and same with my doctor its my physciatrist that prescribes me the medicine and id like to keep it that way

Ritalin (generic: methylphenidate) is not an amphetamine, but a central nervous system stimulant . Unfortunately, it is possible to show up on a prelim drug test as amphetamine, and, with further testing, cocaine. This happened to me once and I don't use illegal drugs.

Methylphenidate is a psychostimulant drug approved for treatment of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, and narcolepsy. Ritalin is it's brand name. Methylphenidate and amphetamine have been investigated as a chemical replacement for the treatment of cocaine dependence. If you were treated with Ritalin for cocaine consuption, a drug test will no show it a a false positive for cocaine.
