During your first trimester of pregnancy you tend to have just about the same pains as those on your menstruation. So no need to panic not unless you feel the same pain for over 7 weeks on your pregnancy.
Most women on their first trimester tend to have pains that resemble period pains that is bound to be normal but it needs to be monitored by your gynaecologists. If it goes beyond 6-7weeks though, the doctor should be looking out for you often to make sure the pregnancy is healthy.

If missed a period, Or suspect anything..I'd strictly advise a test, which can be bought from a clinic,Local supermarket, Boots etc.
All the best. xx
I am not a doctor this is personal experience only.
I did on previous pregnancies and I am having some now at 5.5 weeks. As long as it is not accompanied by bleeding you should be fine.
If you have any bleeding please contact your doctor to rule out ectopic or miscarriage.
My second pregnancy was ectopic and I knew almost immediately because I could feel it in my tube. It was much stronger than menstrual cramps. I am almost certain you would recognize this feeling. My third pregnancy was a blighted ovum, and I went through all symptoms for 11 weeks before finding out, and cramping was one of the symptoms.
