YES ... you can overdose on anything.

The primary effect of overdosing on The Pill is that because it is a synthetic hormone, your body will react just as if your organs were producing too much of one hormone. The body's hormonal system normally functions as an "inverse" relationship: when one hormone goes up, another hormone goes down. So if you take too much of The Pill in an attempt to overdose, you'll likely end up with too much testosterone or progesterone (most pills inhibit egg implantation with testosterone or progesterone). That means female hormones that the body should produce would be lowered. Therefore, a female who takes more of The Pill in an overdose attempt could end up causing her ovaries to be significantly affected. She could have symptoms of masculinization: hair growth, for example. A male who would take an overdose of The Pill would receive the amounts of female hormones present in The Pill, which would be much higher than the male body should have, so he could have feminization symptoms and could significantly affect his ability to produce healthy sperm.

The most serious potential complications of the Birth Control pill are bloot clots, including heart attack and stroke. For young women and for nonsmokers over 35, the risk of a clot on the pill is lower than the risk of a clot from getting pregnant and having a baby.

You won't neccessarily die from it, but it's an excellent idea to quit smoking, especially if you're on the birth control pill. It basically increases your chance of heart attack, stroke, ect. The risk goes way way up if you smoke and are over age 35.

Yes. It nearly killed my 23 year old daughter with a blood clot in her lungs. It could have been in the brain just as easily. She was in the hospital almost two weeks and lost her job.

This is really something to talk to, and listen to, your doctor about.

Like all hormonal birth control, the birth control patch increases the risk of heart attack or stroke. For young women and for women who don't smoke, the risk of dying is greater from pregnancy and delivery than from using birth control.
