Yes. It is possible to get pregnant at any time because people ovulate at different times, so it's important to always use protection whenever you have sex. Take a pregnancy test if you miss your next period

The notion that a female cannot get pregnant while on her period is a myth. While it may not be likely, it is still possible. Thus, the following. The debate on whether or not a woman can get pregnant during her period has been going on for decades now. Just like every woman is different, so are her hormonal balances and hence her menstrual cycle. Though there are generalities on which some ground basics of menstruation and pregnancy can be formed, but eventually it all boils down to individual physiology. So, yes, you can get pregnant during your periods.

There is a definite chance that any woman can get pregnant during her periods. Though the chances of pregnancy during periods are usually low during periods, they exist for all women. During periods, the chances of pregnancy are comparatively lower at the onset of a woman's period and increase just after her periods. The truth is that there is no predictable time during the month when the risk of pregnancy can be said to be absent. Lets understand how and when this can happen.

No. When a woman is on her period it is because every month her body lays an egg, and when that egg isn't fertilized then it dies, the blood from that egg is your period. Its normal to miss your period sometimes.

Yes; although it's difficult, it can definitely happen.

The sperm is alive for 5 days after it's in your body; long enough for another egg to become ready after your period ends.

The only way to be sure you don't get pregnant is to not have *intercourse* (oral sex won't get you pregnant), but condoms are over 99% effective (use them!!), AND they give you the added (and extremely important) benefit of protecting you from sexually transmitted infections.

Just a reminder - if you feel like protecting your body from "gross" diseases is something that you laugh about or shy away from during that moment when you need to demand that a condom is worn; it's probably a good idea to ask yourself whether you should be having sex at all!

To be fair - there are women who practice "the rhythm method," however this is not a very effective form of Birth Control, as it is easy to do it incorrectly. This method is really only ideal for women who are ready to have an "accident," (i.e.: financially and emotionally prepared for a baby).
