How do you pick the lock on Nancy drew computer game phantom of Venice?

First you go to Nancy's room at the Ca then you go into her wardrobe and get a hairpin. Then you go to the door you want to pick the lock on and get the hairpin out of your possessions and click on the doorknob with the hairpin then once you see these things that look like levers you click on them and try to line them all up
