Technically speaking alchohol is stored in plasic too but beer is stored in glass to preserve its taste. Also its colored because certain colors filter light and as you should know if you put beer in a clear bottle the light pretty much eliminates the great taste of beer. ∙ 12y agoBecause glass is inert. Some plastics can cause wine to 'go off' because some of the chemicals in the plastic can leech into the wine. Glass doesn't do that.

Because glass bottles can be used for many things, for examole, wine bottles. Different brands of wine have different coloured bottles. Also, they break easily, and plastic bottles are a lot easier carry around.
