In my experience, which I cooke 8oz portions of chicken daily. 8oz raw chicken breast typically loses about 2oz of water weight when cooked. This will also vary depending uppon how is cooked. The method I use most is stove top with a cooking spray or grill. If you were to boil or cook it in an oven bag the meat may retain more water than the previous two methods

Raw Chicken or Cooked Chicken. How tightly packed is the chicken? More specific information is needed.
It will depend on how it's cut 1 pound of chicken breast (or anything else) will always be 16 ounces. As for cups, it'll depend on how finely you chop it. A cup of cooked chicken can weigh anywhere from 2 ounces (cut into big cubes) to 5 ounces (finely diced). It will also depend on how much moisture has been cooked out of the chicken. On average I'd say it's around 3-4 ounces. If you need precision, it's always more accurate to use a scale than a measuring cup for dry items like chicken or flour.

How much does 3.5 ounces of raw chicken breast weigh after it's grilled
That answer would depend upon the manner in which the chicken is cooked, the conditions in which it was cooked and even the makeup of the particular chicken itself. The only true way to know for your circumstances is to grab a chicken breast, weight it, cook it, and weigh it again. If you are seeking this answer for dietary/nutitional purposes, just remember that all meats nutritional values are calculated in the raw stage. So if you have a 4 oz piece of raw chicken breast and you cook it, because of water loss, etc, it may lose a couple of ounces. However, for nutitional purposes, it's still considered a 4 oz chicken breast. Hope this helps!
