2 to 4 tablespoons ground coffee bean to a quart of water. For espresso it's about 1 tbs coffee to 4 tbs water. So anything in between might be used depending on the strength you want in your cup.

When making coffee, the ideal ratio of water to coffee grounds is a matter of preference. However, most standard coffeemakers advise using 2 tablespoons per cup, which can then be adjusted according to personal taste.

While the coffee to water ratio is subject to personal preference, there are standards. For a single cup of coffee (8 ounces) you would us 8 ounces of water to 2 tablespoons of ground coffee.
