Most of the time, foods don't suddenly go bad the day after the "expiration date". Use your own best judgement. If the texture is different, the appearance looks odd or the odor is off, don't use it. When in doubt, throw it out.
It is highly unrecommended to eat the crab meat after it's expiration date at all.
If its the day of the expiration date yes but not after.
When in doubt, throw it out!! A can of crab meat is not worth a case of food poisening.
Yes
w it would be good well after the date. if it was frozen in the the freezer, it has to be good! like, people freeze meat and stuff after the date, so it has to be good... (well at least i think) i ate one a month after and it taste exactly the same
No, it is not safe to cook and consume expired meat as it may contain harmful bacteria that can cause foodborne illnesses. It is recommended to always check the expiration date on meat products and discard them if they are past their expiration date.
Yes you can freeze lunch meat as long it is within the expiration date . I would not freeze it for no longer than a couple of weeks
An unopened can of canned crab has a pantry shelf life of 3 to 5 years. An opened can be refrigerated for 2 to 3 days.
Meat should not be eaten raw under any circumstances. Food that is frozen before the expiration date can still be thawed and cooked a few weeks later.
How long the meat will be good will depend upon several things, including # How the meat was handled before packaging # The type of packaging # How the meat was handled after packaging The processor's use-by date is a good guideline to follow.
Just called the people who make Ken's Steak House dressing, the woman told me the dressing is good until the expiration date. I even asked if that was true for the creamy caesar (I dont't feel to good about that, has anchovy), she said yes!
If there is no expiration date, or it is not vacuum-sealed or in modified air packaging, I don't recommend eating any meat that's been sitting around for a week, even if hasn't begun to smell yet. If you must eat it, cook it very thoroughly, but I still don't recommend it. A week is a long time for bacteria to grow, and you'd be almost begging for food poisoning.
