How did Bilbo and the dwarves get trapped in the mountain?

Of course!! Bilbo "wondered whether he ought not, now he had the magic ring, to go back into the horrible, horrible, tunnels and look for his friends. He had just made up his mind that it was his duty, that he must turn back-and very miserable he felt about it, when he heard voices."

What indications are there that the dwarves do or do not care about Bilbos well being?

Bilbo is the burglar of the group, and it is his job to go and investigate the scene. In regards to the central themes: heroism, wisdom and nobility we can add the complexities of a noble thief: is this an oxymoron? And in terms of heroes it is ironic that the dwarves were sacked after rather timidly relegating the dirty-work to Bilbo. Do not expect this to change. As far as character-development goes, Bilbo is the central focus. He is growing into Gandalf's glowing pronouncement and the dwarves are‹for now, at least‹being themselves.

What was Bilbo's response to Gollums outrage and pain?

Riddle then he though Bilbo must have the ring so he went back over to Bilbo but he was gone... really he just had the ring on so he was invisable. Gollum thought that Bilbo found the way out of the cave so he went to the Exit of the cave which techniaclly lead Bilbo to the exit so Bilbo got out by using a skill which was the skill he came up with by Gollum.Riddlesanswering riddles so Gollum won't kill him

They were imprisoned at the time he revealed the ring to them. Considering Bilbo used the ring to to go invisible and help them escape, it is likely that the Dwarves were grateful.
