Why is Twilight named Twilight?

Because, as it says in the last chapter of the book, outside at the prom, Twilight is the safest time for the vampires, the easiest. They can go outside and not stand out, but it is not endless night, a time that they get very bored of. ---that and: All the Twilight book titles are about Bella's life. Twilight- Bella is leaving her old life (the day) and starting to join a new life with the Cullen's. but this is the begining, Not yet night. only sunset. New Moon- After twilight, Night takes place. Edward is Bella's moon, and he leaves, in his place is Jacob (her new moon.) Eclipse- Edward (the origonal light in the dark) comes back and insists that she not see her new moon. Thus a lunar eclipse Breaking Dawn- The morning is here and the night (and the story) is over. Bella has fully joined a new life (the new day) with the Cullen's as a vampire, like them.

In the first book, Twilight, Edward states that the timing between night and dawn, which is twilight, is the safest time for Edward and Bella. Twilight must always come to an end though, which sets up the rest of the series.

The story was originally called Forks though, according to Stephenie Meyer, for lack of a better title. She claimed that it was not the easiest book to title, and that whilst throwing around names with her agent, the name 'Twilight' popped out to both of them. She says that there is no true perfect name for the book,and that the others were much easier to name.

Because that is the name chosen by the author. A veiled reference to the fantasy that vampires can only come out at night.

Twilight is named Twilight because Edward said to Bella outside, when it was getting late, that twilight was the safest time of day for vampires. Then, he said, "It's twilight."

The whole series is named after stages of the moon and sun. Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn, and possibly Midnight Sun.

" Eclipse is neither day nor night, you know, its kinda of like a turning point. It could turn back into day or we could be encrusted back into night"

The name comes from a line in the book where Bella says that when her life was overcast with clouds, Jacob was her own personal sun. To this, Jacob says that the clouds he can handle but not an eclipse. Here, eclipse refers to Edward whose love for Bella overshadowed that of Jacob.

The term "new moon" refers to the phase of the moon opposite a full moon. It is when the sun is on the opposite side of the moon from us and thus the bright side of the moon is not visible from earth. This is the darkest kind of night. New Moon is the darkest period of Bella's life.

Because, if you didn't know then an eclipse is when the moon goes in front of part of the sun, making it cold and dark and horrible.

It is called Eclipse, maybe because Edward was her sun (loved and beautiful) and the vampires where the moon, blocking part of it.

THAT'S ONE OPINION.

Another is that, again, Edward is her sun, but the moon is covering part of it which may be referring to Jacob black as she loves both of them but Edward more.
