Why is Year One rated PG-13?

It is rated PG-13 for crude and sexual content throughout, brief strong language and comic violence. It was originally Rated R for some sexual content and language but was edited "down" to PG-13 for release.

The movie Speak (2004) is rated PG-13 because of what is in the movie. First of all it's about a girl who is overcoming a traumatic event (rape). In the film it contains a scene where it's implied that a girl is raped. You see a teenager thrusting on top of a girl. There is another scene in the movie where a boy's eye's burn because there is a substance in his eyes and you hear him scream. It contains profanity, underage drinking and a woman smoking a cigarette.
