The first "host" was Chuck Woolery when it debuted on daytime NBC on January 6, 1975. The first hostess was Susan Stafford. Woolery was on the show until 1981 and Stafford left in 1982. They were replaced by Pat Sajak and Vanna White.
Vanna White is the original and only hostess of the nighttime syndicated Wheel of Fortune show since its first episode on September 19 1983. The current version of Wheel does not count the daytime series as part of its history or episode count, declining to recognize that the game has aired continuously on television since 1975.
On the daytime show, Susan Stafford was the hostess from 1975 to 1982, when she was replaced by a group of three : Summer Bathlomew (a former Miss USA), Vicki McCarty (a former Playboy Playmate), and Vanna White. White won the permanent position and stayed on from 1982 until the show's ending in 1991.

The first Wheel of Fortune puzzle was on a pilot called Shoppers Bazaar now owned by GSN. None of the puzzles from the show are available and the related link describes the pilot that is nothing like the current Wheel of Fortune.
