If you look up the credits of his song "Morphine" from the Blood on the Dance Floor/HIStory in the Mix album, you will see that he played the guitar (along with Slash) and the drums on that song.

He was known to play guitar with Slash and Paul McCartney. In the booklet notes for HIStory, he is among the individuals credited for guitar.

Unfortunately Michael Jackson, the great guitarist as he was, gave it up when he became a famous singer. There was a guitar found in his house and his agent claims the he played it almost all the time when he was home.

But when Michael Jackson died his guitar was sold and the money was given to his family.

"But if he knew how to play the guitar, why did he pay other people to play it in his songs?" asks reporter Alan Morter to Michael Jackson's agent. " Because he didn't like to play it all that much in public, I think. I'll never really know. He never told me." He said back. "But if everyone knew he played guitar, wouldn't he be a little more popular to guitar fans?" he asks. "Probably, but like I said, he never told me".
