Other actors who followed James Garner in the "BEEF: It's what's for dinner!" ads are Robert Mitchum, Sam Elliott and Matthew McConaughey.
The original spokesperson was actor Claude Akins. Correction: The original voiceovers were done by actor Robert Mitchum. His voice was so connected to this campaign that the Leo Burnett ad agency decided to continue the use of his voice after his death. Claude Akins was never involved as he passed away in 1994, which was during Mitchum's heyday with this ad. The aforementioned actors of Garner, Elliot & McConaughey followed Mitchum.
