In The Hunger Games Katniss does not go and get the bow for a two main reasons. Number one is that by the time she would have gone after it the careers would have already of been there, and secondly Haymitch told her the first thing to do was put distance between her and the others, if she wanted to stay alive.

Which tributes from the other Districts stand out to Katniss?

The career tributes usually come from districts 1-4, but in the Hunger Games movie, the career tributes are the District 1 tributes, the District 2 tributes, the District 3 male, and the District 4 female. In Catching Fire, the careers are Cashmere, Gloss, Enobaria, and Brutus.

What are some examples of hyperbole in The Hunger Games?

When Cinna made Katniss' dress look like it was on fire. When the Capitol used fire rain to show that fire can be dangerous, and Katniss is dangerous to the Capitol. They were sending a message to Katniss saying 'Fire can warm you up, but when it is too powerful, it will burn everything in its wake'.When Cato and his followers used so many bombs to protect their food and to blow up anyone who will try to steal their food. When Peeta and Katniss decided to 'kill' themselves by 'eating' the nightlock so that the Capitol will have to make them both the victors and end the game.

How is peeta responsible for foxfaces death?

Peeta is responsible for Foxface's death because as Katniss was hunting, he was collecting berries, although he didn't know they were Nightlock, a very poisonous berry. As Peeta stores them in his bag and walks away to go and get Katniss, Foxface tries to steal these berries and eats one of them also not knowing they are Nightlock. This makes Peeta the one responsible because he is the one that picked them and put them in his bag, although it was Foxface's fault for trying to steal them.

Why does the boy from district 3 shock the gamemakers?

He was an overall boring tribute in the training and the interviews, so they expected him to die early. District 3 produces electronics, so the boy from District 3 was able to make mines (explosives) under the food pile that would explode on pressure if anyone were to try to steal food. He made the mines by digging up parts of the metal plates that lifted the tributes up from under ground at the beginning of the games and using the pieces to make bombs. The plates deactivate after 60 seconds, but somehow the boy was able to reactivate them. This was most likely frowned upon by the gamemakers considering Haymitch did a similar thing in his games and was punished for it.

How does katniss destroy the food supply in the camp set up by the career tributes?

she knew that the careers had it rigged so if someone would try to steal it, a bomb would go off. so from a distance, she shot one of her arrows at a sack of apples, and the apple bag tore and one of the apples fell out, triggering the bomb, which destroyed all the food and supplies.
