It debuted at number 3 on the Billboards Chart in the US on November 1st, 1983. It reached number one in the UK, knocking off Kharma Chameleon, and became the second best selling song of 1983!
They were the first (and still only) recording artists ever to hold all top five positions in the Billboard weekly singles chart. They also had other firsts, but that's one of the big ones.
