Is Despised Icon a satanic band?

Dave Mustaine, and the rest of Megadeth is in no way a Satanic band. Dave Mustaine did, however, dabble into Satanism when he was very young. This was a very brief period, and he regrets it to this day. He is now a born-again Christian, and can't even play certain songs that have to do with witchery or Satan live anymore, because of an apparent "dark aura" that surrounds those certain songs. The Conjuring (Album: Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?) is an example.

Most people would assume that Megadeth worships Satan because of how heavy they are, but this isn't the case. Megadeth has numerous heartfelt songs involving Christianity, such as Promises(Album: Youthanasia), where Mustaine sings:

"I will meet you in the next life.

Where we can be together.

I will wait 'til then in Heaven.

I promise, I promise."

Giving hope does not make one Christian any more than giving despair makes one a Satanist. In fact, quite the opposite is true; organized strains of Satanism are generally far more up-beat than any form of Christianity.

Oh, yeah. The frontman Glen Benton said it is. And he's right. He's a satanist. He hates God. Songs about killing christians, cursing God and Jesus, worshiping Satan, etc.
