∙ 13y agoLil'Wayne father left Wayne when he was young and was never a part of his life, even now, and Birdman took over as substitute father, and now they call each other family but Birdman is not really his father he just stepped in as a substitute father, and moreover a mentor for him as no father figure was around. He got Wayne his first record deal at the age of twelve.

when lil Wayne was still a little kid his father left him, so his new stepdad took care of him. but when Wayne was about 13 the shot himself (it was an accident) in his left chest, and so his stepdad had to go to jail (don't know why it was his gun probably). not long after his stepdad (i believe his name was reginald 'rabbit' carter (reginae, waynes oldest daugther, is named after him)) got free, he was abducted and murdered. Wayne has a few tattoos that have something to do with rabbit. ok, but when Wayne was nine he got discover by birdman and his cash money label, and so when that al happened, birdman took Wayne under his wing.
