Naruto gets involved in a battle during that battle Hinata shows up and protects Naruto [he got hurt and was near death]. Hinata announces that she was there because she [was in] loves him. The seal that keeps the fox within Naruto is set so that if Naruto should ever show 8 tails the 4th Hokage comes and stops it all over again. The 4th finally admits to Naruto that he is his father. The 3rd Hokage knew, but the 4th told him to never tell. 4th tells Naruto that he seal the demon fox within him, his own son, because he was his son. 4th told him that he knew because he was his son that he would have been able to handle it and use to his power; chakra for the good of the village.
