β 10y agoBilbo attempted to pick the pocket of one of the trolls when he grabbed a troll purse, which then let out with a, "Oy! Who are you?" which alerted the trolls.
It isn't known exactly what a troll purse is, though it can be inferred that they are designed exactly for this purpose; to defend against thieves.
